There is also another way to look at it. If man is disbalanced - let's say he is very "alpha" then he will attract partner who is disbalanced to opposite side - she is very feminine. Bigger disbalance create at first stronger "falling in love" and later heavier fight because the relation is based on disbalance and the purpose of the relation (in origin) is to strive for balance inside every individual. Our partner will just help us to reveal our own disbalances via psychological reflection.

Ideally when person's male and female sub-personas are balanced and matured it is possible to create balanced partnership. This is what Jesus said:

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it"

Narrow means here balanced, wide means disbalanced.
